The St Augustine Diet

Osceola,

Billy P,

starved himself

just so,

slipped like soap

through the window

and the grasp,

chiefly

on his own,

and away

yet again.

The air

as thick

as he was

now thin;

hot as he was

cunning,

tenacious,

so full of mosquitoes.

The hope wafted around,

flitted everywhere,

little helicopters 

looking for a purchase

that matters.
